Destiny is a passionate architecture student from Geismar, Louisiana, whose interest in the field began with family trips to open houses in her growing community. As a child, she was fascinated with the idea of design and being able to create. These home tours inspired her to begin challenging her creativity to design floorplans and exteriors of her own. Destiny's parents recognized her passion and found the NOMA Louisiana Project Pipeline camp in 2015. This camp allowed her to go beyond residential design and learn about the profession, urban planning, the built environment, and design justice. Through this camp, Destiny was able to gain a better understanding of the field and the impact that architecture can have on a community. The mentorship, inspiration, and knowledge that Destiny gained from NOMA has been invaluable to her. She now uses this knowledge to build up another generation of young designers like her and continue her architectural journey at Louisiana State University. Destiny is determined to use her skills to create change and make a difference in her community. She is passionate about using her knowledge of architecture to create a better future for her community and the world.
